The Galley: A St. Pete Tavern

I visited the Galley a few times, but that was years ago. I finally had the opportunity to get my friend there who had never been. We left an event in the Mahaffey Theatre and looked for a place that still served food. We sat outside and nobody came to welcome us - we finally moved to the inner bar where we originally wanted to sit anyway, but it was full. There was still for a while without being recognized... It's kind of busy, not a big deal. Once we've greeted, we'll get ready for drinks, a shrimp cocktail and two Cubans. This shrimp cocktail... $10 for 6 shrimps is a steal. I enjoyed it very much. Our Cubans were fantastic. And the bartender took care of our round of espresso-tini shots as we sat there for a while at the beginning, which was very nice! The ambience is quite neat, it reminds me of a diving bar, but a step higher. I had a wonderful time!

Several local beers on tap to please any taste. The Philly-Käsesteak-Fries were amazing! The steak was actually diceed and not shaved, which was beautiful. There was a good balance of all toppings. My only complaint is to order limited lighting from the menu. Fortunately, this can be adjusted by displaying the menu on your phone. Great atmosphere, location and food. A great place to go with friends!

After a night of drinking we were hungry and made it a galley with minutes before the kitchen was closed. Not only were we immediately greeted our table, the nice Lord told us that we only have 3 minutes to place an order and he did not want us to give up food! We were very worthy of it because we starved and got our order quickly. We ordered Mozzarella sticks, Mac and cheese, and the 4. Street Burger all to share. The mozzarella sticks were good, but could have been crispy as they were slightly underboiled. This applies to Mac and Cheese. Don't get me wrong, we've enjoyed these apps, that's just my feedback. Now the burger was absolutely amazing. We even say it's one of the best burgers we've ever had! Even after the alcohol had gone out, we still talked about this burger! 4 stars just because our apps would have more of the crunch you want in your fried foods. I'd give him a 4.5 if there was an option because I don't spend 5 stars very often. Overall, we will definitely be back and this time not only for food, but also for cocktails.

This is a super casual place to serve a bite of delicious food with a side of excellent customer service. I had the tuna pan and it was fresh and delicious.

Great and talented bar staff. Appropriate amount of eye contact and attention paid to refill drinks. Great time. Great football. Met my boyfriend at The Galley and we will be back.
