Sushi-sho Rexley - St. Petersburg

On October 27th, 2022, I had a remarkable dining experience at this restaurant deserving of a five-star rating. Chefs Kwok and Michael offered an exceptional traditional Edomae-style omakase sushi experience at a reasonable price. This type of authentic Japanese sushi is a rare find in the Tampa Bay area, unlike the westernized imitation sushi places with heavily sauced rolls and subpar nigiri. The focus here is on fresh fish, not overpowering sauces. This restaurant is perfect for sushi enthusiasts and those seeking a more adventurous dining experience. The staff, including Rexley, Michael, and Artemis, were welcoming and delightful. The only downside is limited parking, so carpooling or using Uber is recommended.

This restaurant offers the best sushi in the area, with no competition in sight. The Chef's choice includes the absolute best sashimi and nigiri sourced from Japan, Spain, the Mediterranean, and beyond. While the price per person may be $175, the quality of the fish alone feels like it is worth $150. This dining experience is truly exceptional and stands out above the rest.

The most authentic Japanese sushi restaurant on the west coast. It's where you go to enjoy sushi you've never eaten in your life. I get the Omakase which is more than 15 different sushi tasting experiences. The sushi chef will stand in front of youand make each piece while giving you an education about the fish and it's unique condiments. You never need to put soy sauce onanything. Everything is perfect just the way it's made. Every time I go, it's a different experience based on the seasons andthe type of fish that are available. Here's a few from my meal tonight. The one that looks like steak is Kobe beef from Japan! I also get the Sake pairing, which is a perfect compliment to the fish served. They are booked days in advance and they don'taccept walk ins, so you need to plan in advance. Their maximum capacity is 11 people! Most of the people I see eating here arewell dressed couples who are enjoying their first Omakase experience. You have to be a gamer to eat some of the dishes! Ha!

The sushi was exceptional and Art serving the Sake pairing was a lot of fun. We do sushi all the time and this was a really unique experience. Well worth it.

One of the top five meals I have ever had. Each dish was better than the last. You must not miss out on this restaurant. It offers a very unique dining experience!
