The dining experience was truly extraordinary—far beyond just a simple night out. As a passionate foodie with romantic notions about what a Supper Club experience should be, I can confidently say that my expectations were exceeded. The ambiance boasted lovely live music, a gorgeous setting, exceptional food, attentive service, and delightful conversations with friends. What impressed me the most was that we never felt rushed; they don’t turn tables here. Amy and Vito Racanelli have meticulously considered every detail and, together with their staff, served as remarkable hosts throughout the evening. We arrived at 6:30 PM and stayed until shortly after 10 PM, feeling relaxed the entire time. It honestly felt like we were enjoying a meal in someone's private home where our comfort was truly valued. This was our first visit to Tempus, and several details stood out to me, particularly the exquisite service ware—plates, serving dishes, and cutlery—all contributed to the overall experience. The tables, handcrafted by a local artisan, were so beautiful that I found myself studying the intricate grain patterns as we dined. Now, let's talk about the food and drinks. I kicked off the evening with an excellent Old Fashioned. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling white wine—an outstanding choice was the 2020 Saint Hillaire, Blanquette de Limoux from France, which is a fantastic value at just $38! I was fortunate that my foodie friends were eager to share, allowing us to sample a variety of dishes. To start, we were treated to an amuse-bouche featuring roasted eggplant on toast points and cucumber topped with a delightful whipped cheese, which was a perfect way to awaken our palates. Next, we enjoyed smoked trout served with toast points, perfectly balancing texture and flavor. Following that, we had two chilled Waldorf salads that were beautifully presented and exquisitely dressed—definitely a highlight that shouldn’t be missed. Before our main courses arrived, we ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir that paired wonderfully with our meal. For our entrees, we had the local pork schnitzel, which was a generous portion and crispy perfection. We also shared the local roasted Amish chicken, which showcased how the quality of the bird can dramatically elevate flavors and texture. It was evident that they source all their ingredients from an exceptional farm. To accompany our mains, we had creamed spinach and sautéed local mushrooms—both sides were sublime and shouldn't be overlooked! The mushrooms, in particular, showcased a variety of shapes, sizes, and textures that added complexity when enjoyed with the pork and chicken. To end our meal, we indulged in two hot fudge sundaes (one chocolate fudge and one butterscotch) and a delicious chocolate layer cake. We also enjoyed some homemade limoncello to cleanse our palates. As a foodie, it’s a tradition of mine to peek into the kitchen at the end of the meal to express my gratitude to the staff. I was astounded by how clean and organized the kitchen was, even after a bustling evening—this is a true testament to the care and pride that everyone takes in their work. While I’m sure I haven’t fully captured the essence of our evening, we plan to return and bring more friends along for the adventure—only, they’d better be willing to share, because there’s just too much delicious food to explore. In summary, it was a lovely evening and a wonderful memory to cherish with friends.
Delicious, sexy, sleek, cozy, classy, lovely! you don’t have to miss dining at this beautiful and quaint little gem of a restaurant. check out Amy’s gourmet were Amy Racanelli will provide you with her Classic delicious and healthy. Catering menu tailored specifically to your dietary needs!
Amazing flavors, presentation, ambiance and service. The French onion soup was probably the best I've ever had in my life. Fully expected to pay way more than we did for what we got. A+ will be returning.
Waiter was aloof, disinterested, or flustered, but generally not too helpful. They didn't know the menu, were a bit impatient, and someone was annoyingly hovering with a flash camera throughout the night.Food was well planned but not well executed. Dry rolls, undercooked ratatouille, overcooked trout. The ravioli were really good as was the dessert, but I believe the cake was brought in from a local bakery and it stole the show.Overall it was an ambitious yet clunky experience, but maybe that's normal of pop ups of this variety. If you want that disjoint, opening night, working the kinks out excitement at the going rate of a nice sit down, then forgo the traditional and let the Tempus team of caterers play restaurant for you.
