Banh Mi So 1 - St. Louis

We were thrilled to discover a large selection of vegan options! We were so impressed that we drove two hours to enjoy this delicious food, as it's challenging to find good vegetarian options elsewhere.

As of June 14, 2022, the restaurant operates primarily for carryout. To place an order, you must call ahead before arriving for pickup, as the door is locked and the “open” sign is off. However, if you call, they will answer the phone! The owners are currently selling the restaurant as they wish to pursue other ventures, but they are dedicated to continuing operations until they find a buyer. Let’s hope they find someone who can maintain the same high quality, especially in their famous mung bean spring rolls!

The café is great, and the prices are very reasonable. However, I was a bit unhappy to find a long hair in my banh mi. It might be a good idea for the staff to wear hair nets. Other than that, everything was good.

This is the underestimated Vietnamese restaurant in st. louis. the older owner and his wife make all food fresh to order. call them ahead and make sure they are open. there is one for sale sign in the inner, they want to rest at a certain point. still the best spring rolls in st. louis!

This is the best restaurant in St. Louis. I am sad, but happy to hear that they are retiring. I have eaten here for 20+ years. When they finally close it'll be a sad day on St. Louis, but a happy, relaxing day for the kind, and wonderful owners.
