Frankie Johnnie's Pizza - Springfield

In my opinion, this is the best grinder spot in Western Massachusetts. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is fantastic. I always recommend it to my friends when they are in the area and looking for takeout.

I just visited for their soft serve ice cream and tried the twist of chocolate and vanilla. The small cone was quite generous in size. The service was friendly too, so I left a tip.

The pizza doesn't taste like it used to. I remember when I would order from here, and it was always delicious. They shouldn't have changed the old recipe. The only reason I'm giving them more than one star is because I do enjoy their grinders.

Ok, maybe this place doesn't really deserve 5 stars, but the pizza and calzones are definitely 5 star worthy. I love the sauce and crust. Really the best pizza around, in my opinion, except maybe Capri in Holyoke. Pizzas are big a medium is like largeanywhere else. A large gets you two pizzas. Calzones are also big and delicious. Not a huge fan of their grinders they aren'tbad, but the bread just isn't amazing. Salads are a bit underwhelming. I haven't tried any of their pasta or entree typedishes. Employees are great; the sort of people that learn your name and greet you with it if you eat there a lot. The ambianceis a bit lacking. Pre covid they had a bunch of tables and a TV that mostly plays sports. Now (2022) there aren't really tables,although the TV is still there, so it's pretty much just a takeout spot now. Delivery is super fast too, although I live likehalf a mile away, so maybe that's why. I also like that they're using the Slice app now for online ordering, which is superconvenient. Overall I highly recommend it for pizza and calzones!

Frankie and Johnny never disappoint me; I've been going there for years, even though I live quite far away. Whether I order for pickup or delivery, the staff is always friendly! I've come to know a couple of the delivery guys, and they are consistently polite. The building I live in can be tricky to access, but they always manage to find it and are always on time. I like to provide specific instructions, and they always follow them perfectly—whether it’s for extra sauce or any other request. Everything is always executed just right. Thank you!
