The Strandcafe is a very nice Restaurant located in Spitz, Lower Austria, beside the Danube River, offer Austrian food and good drink, Coffee, Wine. The Restaurant had balcony very nice to sit there and enjoy the fantastic Danube River views

+ Excellent spot to sit outside on the terrace, overseeing the danube river + Decent typical Austrian food (from Schnitzel to sweets) -- don't expect anything fancy though + Very friendly and fast service

My husband and I took the river boat from Durnstein to Spitz to have lunch and decided to go here as it was close and had a terrace overlooking the Danube. Of course you will get a lot of tourists here because its quite close to the dock where the cruise ships come in.We both ordered the schnitzel with salad and potatoes and I must say when it came it was a huge serving covering the dinner plate. It was very good and the salad was large and very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal however it was very slow to arrive and I had to actually ask a waitress where it was as we had been waiting an hour. They do get very busy so dont expect to be served quickly.
