Mcalister's Deli - Spartanburg

Too long, didn't read version: Aside from a long wait due to a kitchen error that was addressed, the food was delicious and not much more than other medium tier dining experiences. We got there shortly after opening time and there had all ready been a couple orders being filled for catering as we came through the door, which means they were going to be slow to taking our order, but that was okay cause it gave us time to check out the giant wall of text that is their menu. After finally ordering our food from the friendly gal behind the counter, we sat down and talked for awhile, the tables were clean and there was a positive feeling in the air, rushed but positive. After waiting awhile we started to realize this was no ordinary wait time, after one of the managers clocked in and talked to his boss, he came over to apologize that the oven had shut off mid way through but that it would be out shortly afterward. This was indeed the case, I would've docked them a point for this but they had the courtesy to tell us what had went wrong and that it wouldn't be much longer, what really secured them from losing a star is the fact the food was delicious. So we'll get to the reason you're here, your items of consumption! I ordered a french dip sandwich and some broccoli cheddar soup, now mind you that I don't broccoli, I usually test places to see if they can make a positive spin on items that I don't like, so that I may get to enjoy it for a change, this was in fact the case! The soup was delicious and even had bits of carrot strung throughout it. My fiance ordered a grilled cheese and it came in a mixture of cheeses, it was enough to fill her up and she was able to take the second half to work, she said even after heating it up it kept the same level of flavor, something that is rarely upheld after going through the dreaded microwave. Yall's I've driven past this place so many times and it never looks busy so I'm always finding somewhere else to go. So today we decided to go check it out! Guys this place does NOT Disappoint!!! We got the club and it was so fresh and the flavors were delicious. Their blackberry sweet tea lemonade was so refreshing on this hot day. If you're even in the area I would highly recommend it. It's definitely going on our favorites list!!! ????

I had the grilled chicken salad and it was delicious. The whole atmosphere here is really wonderful. All of the staff were exceptionally nice.

I'm sitting in my car outside of the restaurant as I write this one. I've ordered from this place a handful of times and they've either messed up something or forgotten it entirely. This time? They forgot to bring me my food in general. I ordered curbside 45 minutes before I got there and called the number as the sign says. The woman was very friendly on the phone and said someone would bring it to me shortly. 15 minutes later they still haven't. I walk in to ask for my food and its sitting to the side of the counter and no one has touched it. I tell them the situation and I get looked at by 3 girls behind the counter and the one who hands me my food is completely indifferent to me. Then I look at my salad. Fresh avocado doesn't look like this. These are turning bad. Hard pass on the Mcalister's in Spartanburg from now on. Edited to add 2 stars for management: They also forgot my chicken but after speaking to management I'm getting a new salad and refund. Still apprehensive about future purchases but it was nice they made it right.

First time eating at this one actually. Today it was not busy (Tuesday 4pm). I was glad because I was on my way out and wanted to grab a quick dinner for the night! I got the turkey sandwich on wheat breat and it was amazingly delicious ????. Lemonade was delicious well and can't forget the spear pickle!! Yummy!! Def will be back!! Spouse got the chicken Ceasars wrap with a large water. Water taste filtered, very good taste!
