Either the tortillas were rancid or the sauce on the chilaquiles was bad, it had a bad smell. I had a few bites before realizing that something was wrong with the food. I was sick for a couple of days. I won’t buy from this place again.
The food was terrible! I was so disappointed in everything we tried. Nothing looked like it was supposed to from the menu and the flavor was both bland and terrible. We will not be going back. Bathrooms have a lock on them and you have to get a nasty key from the front counter. Place was dirty with duct tape on the garbage cans and no paper towels in the bathroom. Gross place.
Authentic Mexican finally! This place is so delicious. Chile rellenos are phenomenal!
I had family in town and we were looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant in Utah county. They’re very hard to come by! From the suggestion of one of our family members we tried Malena’s and fell in love! It’s our go to now whenever we go to Spanish Fork. We have eaten the ramen birria, huaraches, tacos, caldos and the desserts. All of them we have loved but the huaraches de birria… we give that a chef’s kiss! Just for parents/caregivers to be aware and as an added suggestion, there was no diaper changing area in the bathroom.
For this area of the county where, I have to agree, do we need another Mexican restaurant? Absolutely not. If this was another over sauced and cheesed to give the American version of Mexican food, I 'd say stay away. However, step away from the normal expectations and go for something new if you want to taste what not only has the flavor of home made but the ingredients and textures bas well.I stepped out and tried the seafood soup, upon the recommendation of the young lady. I opted for the bread over tortillas. To say my mind was blown is an understatement. It was perfectly balanced with a nice seafood broth but not too salty. The fish and shellfish was fresh, including the calimari and legs of dungeon 's crab. A nice surprise a a firm fillet of fish mixed in as wellThe dish took me back to the Pacific coast in Baja Mexico at Puerto Nuevo years ago. I felt like grandma made this from scratch as in years past. So try stepping away from what we know and open your mind to authentic in form and flavor, just not vy name.I gave 4 stars because it was my first time and the young lady should be more confident in your recommendation. It 's good food ve proud not being just another Mexican place.
