I can only assume that she didn't fully understand me, confirmed a thoughtful one when I saw her laugh with her colleague after completing my order. perhaps her colleague had a more concrete knowledge of shakespeare. malcolm was in stabs, for the wonder.
I have visited this pub with some work colleagues at lunchtime on a weekday and had reserved 2 tables for 18 people. Everyone ordered at least a drink and some food to share except for me as I was still finishing my coffee and would...have ordered a drink later. Despite having just sold 20+ drinks and food in a basically empty pub, the bartender decided to come to the table to point out that next time I shouldn't have come in with my own drink, in a very passive aggressive manner. It's safe to say there will not be a next time as I will never go back to a place where such a big fuss was made over a cup of coffee. I have been there before and was planning on visiting again for after work drinks, but I'd honestly rather go anywhere else after what happened. To the lady behind the bar who I am assuming is the manager or supervisor: please learn to treat your customers with more respect. Everyone at the table was horrified and uncomfortable when you came around just to tell me off. It was just very unnecessary.
Nice pub which h we stumbled upon during an afternoon in the area. Was really busy and had a good atmosphere. Served food although we didn't eat the menu looked decent.
My wife was ignored three times at the bar when she was waiting to be served… it wasn’t even busy: two bar staff and three customers came after her. Another customer was served the most awful pints of Shipyard. Flat flat beer. Yet the bar...staff couldn’t see it was dodgy. So we left…
Pub, staff and outdoor areas are good. Cask beer good, if a little expensive (how did we get to £5.50 for a pint of bitter One of us had a sausage sandwich very good and enjoyed. One had chicken quesadilla more like two...tortillas stuck together, with a bit of filling. The chicken was in small oblong chunks, which suggested low quality and tipped from a plastic bag. Would return, but two sandwiches next time!
