OVERVIEW: I’ve updated my review due to the prompt response from the owner, though I wasn’t given a warm reception by the staff member I initially encountered, who didn’t make an effort to connect me with someone else at the establishment. I hope to eventually experience what seems like a great place to hang out. Unfortunately, during our attempt to visit The Pub of Southport for a late dinner on Sunday, May 29, 2022, we were informed by another staff member that they were only serving alcoholic beverages at that time and would start serving food in a few weeks. It also seemed like a member-only venue that catered to a specific clientele regarding food and drinks. - Cooled Harrell More than a Poet

They have definitely improved their menu, and there are still some great choices available. However, the consistency in the kitchen can vary. Some days the fries are crispy, while other days they aren't served hot. On a positive note, the Buffalo shrimp is above average. Overall, it's worth a regular visit.

The locals are friendly, and the owner is very welcoming. Do yourself a favor and order the Reuben egg rolls—they're absolutely delicious! Also, give Shiner Bock a try; it's a smooth beer. Yes, they were open for New Year's, and there was a live band playing. They even had a champagne toast at midnight. I would definitely come back for another visit!

Great food and good conversation! Bartender are very fast and knowledgeable. I have fish and chips. Not disappointed!

Awesome bar, mostly awesome staff, food was alright but nothing special, selection of whiskey is really good they just need glencairns. (Its a glass to drink whiskey with, not an alcohol.
