Potter's Seafood - Southport

The oysters they sell are from the Topsail Beach estuaries. We counted over 250 singles in each of the 3 bushels we bought recently. Salty an delicious is the best way to describe them. Highly recommend

Great fresh fish and great people ..love supporting local establishment

I spent a couple of days in Southport last week and one of the things I wanted to do was bring home some fresh shrimp. I live in the WNC mountains and fresh seafood is hard to come by, especially shrimp, which I love. When I arrived in Southport I went to Potter's and spoke with Billy, and asked him if he had 10 lbs of shrimp. He said he did, and asked what I planned to do with it. I told him I was going to freeze it in 1 lb packages. He said he could do that for me. I called a couple of hours later and asked if I could get an extra 5 lbs for a total of 15 lbs. He said he didn't have any that day but likely would the next day. I picked up my 15 lbs at the end of the next day and it was all vacuum packaged in 1 lb packages. Shrimp that was happily swimming in the ocean a few hours earlier was now frozen and on it's way home with me! Amazing service and the freshest seafood ever! I will gladly drive the 6 hours one way to buy from Potter's again and again!

Really friendly and helpful. I was tentative about going in because I don’t know very much about fish and preparation. The young lady there immediately made me feel welcome and at ease. Patiently and cheerfully helping me make a good selection for my needs, and giving me simple cooking instructions. ??
