Shamrock Hotel - SOUTH TOWNSVILLE

Tuesday night is Parma Night at the Shamrock Hotel. Huge selection on different Parmas, all for $11.90. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere in the pub is actually very unique but robust. Enjoyed my night, met some locals and will return

I suppose my wife and I went here expecting Irish Stew, Guinness Pie, or even Bangers and Mash. We thought we might try something a little less expensive than other eateries in Palmer street. The hotel was quiet. There was no music and few customers. It was mid week and there was nothing resembling an Irish atmosphere. However I guess we were there for the eating anyway. The special that night was Chicken Schnitzel Carbonara. We had never heard of such a dish, although familiar with the Italian Spaghetti Carbonara, What a surprise! I don't know what was in the sauce, but it was delicious . We gave it top marks. We will make this dish at home.

Was great place to have drinks and food had the reef&beef also the rib fillet both were very nice staff were friendly

Good local pub. Good value meals and beers I had the fish of the day and it was cooked perfectly, seemed to take a little bit to receive my meal but the waiter was nice and the bar girls were too, so I wasn't bothered :)Good for a beer and a meal if you're in the area

A group of 6 of us visited the Shamrock for dinner, as it was the emptiest restaurant along Palmer Street - for a good reason, it seems! Food took forever, all of the chips with the meals were stone cold and between 3 crumbed steaks and 2 parmigianas ordered, there was only one satisfactory meal. Will not be returning.
