Masala Indian Cusine - SOUTH TOWNSVILLE

Arrived with no booking. We're seated by young lady who asked us if we would like water. She then left and was gone for 3/4 hour. When we asked her questions about children she couldn't answer our questions. She left and another 3/4 hour later a young man named Lochlan came and took our order, explained about the meals for kids. Approx another hour our food arrived. Our meal was very taste . We were disappointed on the cleanliness on this restaurant. Two of the six glasses on our table had lipstick on them. The table setting was not very appealing . Toilets were not very clean. Would we go back? The food and the service we received from Lachlan would be the only reason we would go back

The entrée of samosas was tasty. The naan bread, well maybe a bit too crispy. Both of the courses were pleasant and mild to medium as requested. There was little atmosphere as most of the meals were takeaway and since there was plenty of custom for that service, I can only imagine that the restaurant was popular for its food rather than its décor or atmosphere. Still an enjoyable meal for the two of us.

We got a takeaway meal. It was very tasty and we also got rice and naan. All yummy. The price was reasonable, however i was upset that despite us ordering hot, we got mild only

Living in the wet tropics we don't eat Indian very often. So we took this opportunity, being winter and less humidity, to make the most of it. I researched Trip Advisor and Masala offered all of our favourite dishes. Our entrees were very disappointing, the pastry on the samosas was very thick and stodgy and the onion bhajis were burnt and dry. The main courses, Butter Chicken and Lamb Korma were spot on. the service was polite and discreet, but not the best wine list. Overall we enjoyed our meal. not sure if we would return.

I went to Masala indian and had a chicken tikka masalaI asked for mild but got mediumThe chicken was of poor quality and i kept spitting out grisly bitsThere was no sauce in the masala, just a stodgy bowl which was too dry There was nobody else in the restaurant which says a lotThe only saving grace was the staff were friendlyDidnt bother complaining because i couldnt face eating another meal from thereDon't waste your time! I went to Ribs amd Rump also on Palmer Street the day before and it was delicious.
