On Sovereign - South Stradbroke Island

We were lucky enough to stumble upon Cafe on Sovereign, a hidden gem located at the entrance to Sovereign Islands in Paradise Point, on the Gold Coast. Intrigued by their lunch special, we stopped by for a meal while touring the island. I had an open-faced sandwich and my wife had a homemade burger, both of which were delicious. A few days later, we returned for breakfast with a friend and once again enjoyed the good food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit.

Eating with dogs is not an exaggeration at this cafe. The owner allows dogs inside, which is why I will not be returning. We visited a few times before it became a dog-friendly spot, but the owner, an older woman, was more focused on designing a menu than providing good service. The food was average at best, and I can make a better breakfast at home. I go to other places in Paradise Point for my meals now.

We have had a delightful lunch at this restaurant on multiple occasions. The food is delicious, the ambiance is charming and tropical, and the service made us feel very welcome. They offer a wide variety of dishes, all of which are beautifully presented. On Sovereign is now one of our top restaurants in the Gold Coast.

We loved our breakfast here and loved the relaxed atmosphere. Close to home and has a great selection of cakes to choose from. The only problem here is that now it opens at which is well after our walk so we have to go...some else for coffee breakfast, but if you are a late riser and enjoy a brunch. Can recommend

I have been to this place about half a dozen times and I cannot recommend it enough! The food is delicious, prices are reasonable, staff are friendly and the atmosphere is classy yet relaxed. Lamb shanks are always a hit with me but I will...be slowly working my way through the entire menu! It's new so still a bit quiet, but this sort of establishment should soon be recognised as a true gem. It's well worth the trip over the bridge. If you are local it's a no brainer. Will be going back.
