Wealh's Bistro - South Oxfordshire

I was excited to try a club sandwich at The George Bistro. With a price tag of £12, I was expecting something delicious. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when it finally arrived after a long wait (despite there being only one other person in the restaurant) and found that one of the bread slices on the triple-decker sandwich was burnt black. This lack of attention to detail was disheartening - it would have been simple to re-toast another slice of bread. Even a sandwich from a gas station would have been a better option.

I decided to visit the Bistro on a whim last night. Our meals were delicious, the service was excellent, and we couldn't find any faults. I would definitely go back again.

I was initially concerned at the lack of fellow diners but when the lunch was served I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Sunday roast beef and it was marvellous. My only minor critisim would be the amount of vegetables but not worth knocking the meal. Well done.

Last Friday evening, my family of fifteen dined at this restaurant and we were all impressed by the amazing food. We tasted almost every dish on the menu, including the perfectly cooked beef, lamb, and duck dishes. The portions were generous and we all had a perfect evening. We will definitely be returning.

Was in Wallingford for the week and ended up eating here twice, both times Its was at the George Pub but ordered food from the restaurant menu. I had the pork roast and the lamb. Both were cooked to prefection with lots of flavour. Both meals were served with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoe. Would not thnk twice about visting again, certainly a viable option if your looking for somewhere to eanoy a meal or 2.
