Naturally Hawkshead Cafe

Called in and the staff were very helpful and the soup was great. My mother loved it, so must be good.

Nice food friendly staff and very helpful cafe staff and shop staff and a lot of people on here saying food is not cheap every where in the lakes is over priced

We recently visited the cafe whilst shopping in hawkshead. The cafe was closed when we initially got there and had a sign saying it would reopen at 1.40. Several people walked out not wishing to wait. When 1.40 came the cafe did not open but one member of staff started cleaning the tables/chairs etc. We finally got seated at 1.50. We ordered 2 soup and a child’s baked beans on toast. Other customers followed us in and all received their food before us despite us being the first to order. Our food finally arrived at 2.35! The ‘soup’ was warm and looked like a tin of tomatoes has been blended! The staff were very sullen and disinterested and it was very evident they did not want to be there! In the current economic climate we thought businesses would be appreciative of people’s custom! We shall not be eating there again

I almost never post a negativity on TA but I have to say the "full English "breakfast at this establishment was poor, yes I did eat it as I was hungry but both my eggs where without yolks the bacon slice was very well done in fact brittle, the grilled tomato was not grilled and we never received the black pudding and was only brought to our attention when pkares were delivered to our table. I just would like to advise the establishments kitchen to take a little more time and care on producing the food and it will be a winner, staff pleasent and covid controls good but as I say the breakfast was a real let down.

Rough and ready best describes this unfortunate experience. The good part was that the soup (orange and carrot) was tasty- the bad that it was lukewarm. The bread was cheap sliced. However: On Saturday 26 September there was a legal requirement to display a QR code- the staff seemed to know nothing of this. Insisted we give track and trace details when QR would have and is meant to deal with this. Every other shop/cafe had one on display. What does this say?
