Great little cafe for breakfast and lunch. Great food and very good service! Very friendly place for a good bite to eat! I will definitely be going back soon!

I just finished a fantastic breakfast at Bert 's Cafe in South Lake Tahoe, a local 's secret. When you are at the Lake come here, instead of the tourest traps, for a great breakfast or lunch at popular prices. Bert has been on the business at various venues for 30 years and serves a wide variety of food from Huevos Rancheros to Cheese Blintz and everything in between. If your want a great breakfast try Bert 's World Class 'Huevos Rancheros '. Bert says he has guaranteed over 400 guests that they have never had it better anywhere in the world or he would give it to them free. He has never bought one yet, and I can see why. It is served with homemade beef rancheros sauce, salsa, frioles, eggs (cooked to order), tortilla (corn or flour) and tortilla chips. It 's amazing and a must try for any Mexican food lover. There are also other dishes for any palate from pancakes, bacon and eggs to a non-traditional Cheese Blintz. It 's also a good lunch stop for a variety of burgers, sandwiches and salads. But come early. They close at 2:00 pm. It 's located on Hwy 50 on South Lake Tahoe across the road and just south of Tahoe Valley Campground, about a mile south of the Y. OMG! When in Soth Lake Tahoe Bert's is a must. Great food , warm welcoming staff. If you show up at peek breakfast time on the weekend you may have a short wait but it's oh so worth it.
