フィードバックを提供するVisiting Dartington Hall Gardens, we finished with coffee at the Green Table, and were not disappointed. You can sit inside, outside under cover or in the sun; eat in or take away the menu seems to have good variety; and no complaints about either the coffees or the service.
The Green Table serves the best coffee, the staff are lovely and very attentive; I haven’t eaten there apart from the freshly baked cakes so can’t comment on the main meals.
1) Do not take cash! Plastic cards only! Following WEF narrative, sadly. Cash is legal tender in the UK! Because of this we decided not to go into the Green Table again. 2) You have to stack your disposable containers of hot drinks into what looks like an empty cardboard egg carton to take your drinks to a table, along with 3) collecting your wooden disposable spoons, knives and forks they may be recyclable but what a waste of materials. Steel cutlery and china surely less wasteful in terms of one sinkful of hot soapy water. 4) And it would take the waitress 1 minute to carry drink containers over to a table? If I go there again, I will use the other little Bagel cafe in front of the entrance they said, reluctantly mind, that they’d accept cash. Wise up, Dartington! Go woke, go broke.
Amazing, lovingly cooked food and awesome baked goodies. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. What really makes this place is the staff, many of whom have been there for years. Always friendly, cheery and helpful. I hope they get paid well for all their effort! The best!
I only had coffee a couple of times. Seems like they have a variety of food for lunch. It closes at 5pm. It needs new tables inside.
