Michelle was a very friendly waitress. She helped us with recommendations that we wanted to know about the menu. The Bruschetta was delicious, the homemade salad dresses delicious creamy garlic, creamy Italian Gorgeous. Try the chilled chicken as an appetizer for the table you love. My husband had the calf Parmesan, I had the shrimp Sampi and my nephew had the manicotti and we all loved our choices. I love Tiramisu and Sunny Italy had it and I enjoyed it. My nephew loved his cannoli with pistachio crumbs at the ends and my husband enjoyed his very large piece of chocolate cake. Eating was okay. We had a group and sat on the back, which was good. Pretty tight. The service was good. It was really busy and really loud after the football match

Sunny Italy is one of my favorite restaurants in South Bend. It has been operated by the same family for two generations, and their recipes are phenominal! You are located in a beautiful old building right on the river promenade. You have a big full bar and wonderful food. You also have a private room for events when you call in time.

This is the place my father took my mother when they were dating in the early 50s. Then they took my sister and me later. My favorite place for my birthdays. It's still the same, the foods still the same and I always get the deluxe spaghetti dinner, antipasto with french dressing and spumoni for dessert. It's tradition.

My wife and I were looking for a place to host a wedding dinner for our daughter's wedding. We needed a private dining area, the comfortable place 35 people. We looked at Sunny Italy because that was the place where my wife's parents were engaged many years ago. I'm sure I'm glad we looked! I haven't been there for decades and had forgotten what a hidden jewel is this locally owned and operated restaurant. We had the rehearsal dinner there in May 2021 and it was wonderful. The food was hot, delicious and authentic. And the service went beyond my expectations. Especially for a group our size. And the cost of the event was very reasonable in view of the quality of the food and services provided. I can guarantee that this will not be my last time to feed there.
