Doughy and light, they were good and I am speaking from growing up in NYC for 20 yrs!Prices are reasonable, alcohol selection is good!
Second time in last night with my NY pizza snob wife. We split time between Boston and Chicago, and Chicago is no slouch when it comes to pizza (no comments from deep dish haters please), but this is the only slice outside of NYC that she 's ever asked for a second time. Only this visit to Dragon Pizza was different...she wants more than a slice...she wants the whole pie. Me: You mean so that we can take home leftovers. Her: You must be [expletive] kidding me...there will be nothing left to take home. We went with the Cheese and a bottle of red wine. The wine selection isn 't large but the owner, who is a super nice guy, set us up with what I would call high quality pizza wine. Honestly, it was better wine than you find in any chain restaurant for twice the price. Somebody made some thoughtful selections. The pizza crust has a really nice flavor, crisped on the bottom, bubbles/blisters around the edge and still foldable. The cheese/sauce/dough ratio is perfect and the sauce has great flavor....not just tomato sauce. To top it all off, both times we 've been in, they 've were kicking a great mix of old school rock. I 'd keep coming back but let 's be clear about this...I really wouldn 't have a choice...my wife will drag me back....
Let’s start with the service! An amazing Job with Veronica and the crew. They were so genuine and welcoming! Now let’s talk FOOD! The pizza is hands down the best in the city. What’s in the sauce??? Love it hereFood: 5/5
They offer all their varieties of pizza by the slice which is an awesome way to try different flavors and not over eat by buying whole pies like we do in other places. Their pizzas are thin crust, bubbly and charred, just how we like it. They serve alcohol as well as gelato. The place is hot with the pizza ovens going even with the front and back doors open despite it being a windy cool evening so it’s a tad uncomfortable eating in but we did anyway.
This place is so good! My girlfriend and I come here every week. It has so much to offer. I want to lead by saying you have to try the ice cream— it is by far the best in the area. The pizza is also undoubtedly the best in the area, and they have a nice variety of types as well. The vibes in both the main room and the Lair are welcoming and fun. The games are fun in the Lair too. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming. Really recommend this place (even worth visiting just for the ice cream!
