Shelly Farm Fryer - Solihull

OK, so I have visited the chippy many times and the food is beautiful....tonight at I visited with my friend and our children. We ordered chicken kebab chips, curry and chips and a sausage. Hostile service would be a compliment. I am so disappointed...that the lady was so uninviting but when asked they'd had a long day. If you can't be polite close the door. The food was rushed and not to their usual standard. I will not be visiting again sadly.

The food is always amazing, but on top of this, it is the staff and the kindness of them, even when they are busy or clearly stressed they are so immensely kind. highly recommend, if they have you waiting it is worth it as the...fresher the better.

We would recommend this place to any one who asked us about where to eat. We hope you are hungry we got a single portion of chips and I could have feed people.

Cannot give a poor review as have been very satisfied coming here for many years at least once a month. But I have to say, often have had to grill the cod when I get home as it can be undercooked. Last Sunday was the...most undercooked I’ve ever had and so ended up not eating it. It’s such a shame that this does happen sometimes and it’s sort of a relief when it’s not. Other than that, spotlessly clean and I don’t mind waiting for good food. Today we went to Dovehouse chippy due to last week’s experience. It’s my only criticism, I hope this review is read because this place is virtually perfect and I love to see a great chippy do well.

I saw Simon M wrote they have a captive audience who don't know any better and that prompted me to write this review. The food, in particular the cod, is amazing in this chip shop they also never seem to serve undercooked chips which...so many shops do when things get busy. I have lived all over the country, visited many countries in the world and this would be rated as my chip shop. The covid protections seem very robust and they continue to produce incredible food.
