Alce 101 Kitchen And Tequileria

We enjoy supporting local restaurants, and Alce has a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Unfortunately, during each of our last three visits, the food has been served lukewarm or even cold. It seems like the dishes might be prepared in advance and then reheated. Given the price point, we were expecting better quality. We're not sure if we'll give it another chance.

The service and ambiance are worth the visit. It is a really cool place. Fantastic cocktails to enjoy before dinner or to start a conversation. Didn't look at wine list, because we paid a very reasonable corkage fee.The tapas and small plates are the best options from menu, perfect to shareand taste different things such as duck corn dogs. The large plates lack character and originality, bland taste, the chipotle sauce on their dishes is more like a slightly spicy ketchup, nothing to do with Chipotle flavor. The service, again, is top notch.

Food was underwhelming but loved the elk pozole with their cornbread. Lollipop lamb and the eggplant steak was such a disappointment. Enjoyed our waiter but the hostess was rude for some reason.

Pros: Ambiance and vibe were lovely. Patio was gorgeous and the heated temp was nice on a cool evening. Good cocktails.Cons: Risotto was a bit undercooked and for the price of the lamb I expected more of it. Service was below average.
