Big Mama's Country Kitchen - Slidell

This is a super belated review, but my mom and I were passing through LA on the way to TX at the beginning of June and stopped into this place for lunch. It was so fantastic that I’m remembering to write this review a month later! The food was incredible and the owner was just the sweetest lady. My mom is sensitive to carbs and didn’t eat the rice and cornbread, and the owner insisted on giving her a free bowl of gumbo! I’m vegetarian and there were several options for me as well. Just solid people, delicious food and great service. Her restaurant should be packed! If the owner is reading this, I hope you managed to figure out Tiktok and I wish you so much success!

I work for uber and was just picking up an order here that took an hour and still never got the food. It was just a burger and shrimp and grits. I'm missing out on making money. The customer called them they hung up on them. Then she called to talk to the manager and she chewed her out for no reason. This establishment is very unprofessional. There was another table of people waiting forever. I don't know who thinks it's ok to yell at people just asking about their food. Very rude staff

ID LEAVE 20 STARS IF COULD, GUMBO IS THE BEST I'VE HAD IN TOWN AND THE SHRIMP AND GRITS BEST IVE EVER EATEN.

Had a group breakfast here with my company and the food was off the chain Delicious). A great spot and n Slidell that will definitely satisfy any soul food craving you may have… Big Mama taught Em right!!Thank you for such wonderful care with your food.

Gumbo shrimp grits were delicious.The shrimp and grits were so full of flavor! Mmm mmm mmm. Service was greatOne of my favorites I've tried in this area
