The Fastnet - Skibbereen

We recently enjoyed a family lunch at the Fastnet bar in Goleen. We sat outside in the cozy beer garden. Lovely welcome great service and fab food Try the fresh crab sandwich or the Chicken burger !

We were on a charity cycle to the mizen and stopped for lunch, everything was prompt and tasty. After we paid the manager gave us €50 for the charity. 10/10

We had booked for outdoor dining but alas the rain came down so we got take out instead. It was very well presented, but the crab was fantastic as was the scampi. Only negative was there was far too much food! Side salad was a full salad! None of us could finish pur meals- Even our 18 yr old! Definitely great value and worth stopping there to Martin and his friendly staff.

Called in for lunch here while staying in Barleycove for a few days. I had a chicken panini which was really nice but what was nicer still was my wife's dish which was salmon and crab open sandwich which came with chips. It was absolutely delicious in her words. I would highly recommend Fastnet restaurant if one happens to be travelling through Goleen.

Felt like a place mostly locals go, I think we were the only tourists. The guys at the bar were joking with each other in Irish and having a grand time. The more traditional food looked great, but I made the mistake of trying to eat healthy and ordered the crab salad (canned crab, weird potato salad beets).
