The pulled pork sandwich is piled high with juicy, tender shredded pork. However, while the pulled brisket sandwich is also generously portioned, the meat is overcooked and has some burnt edges. There are two types of BBQ sauce available: a Carolina-style vinegar sauce and a slightly sweet tomato-based sauce.
This restaurant is in a fantastic location for a barbecue spot. The staff is very friendly, and you can enjoy a lovely view of the park from their terrace. The standout dish for me was definitely the pulled pork—I'm from Texas, and it's just as good as any I've had there. The beans were also excellent, with just the right amount of spice. I agree with others who have said that the beef brisket isn't their strongest offering. I might have just had a couple of poorly prepared pieces, but I felt it had more of a pot roast texture. However, I'm perfectly happy to stick with the pulled pork instead of the brisket!
Wow! I tried the slider sampler about two months ago, and I can’t stop thinking about it since my visit along Sligo Creek Parkway. You get three options: pork, beef, and chicken, with BBQ sauce served on the side. Two words: mouthwatering flavors. Wait! I sound like Gordon Ramsay! Being from the Midwest, I know good BBQ when I taste it! I’ve heard it’s only available on weekends, so I plan to return during the week, just like the first time I stumbled upon this gem. Delicious!
Try the slider sample to get any meat. The pages are cheap and they give you generous portions... the children loved the Mac cheese. The bbq pit is decorated like a train! They also have jumbo-sized stacking blocks / Jenga, and grain hole. Solid Spot directly at the Sligo Cross Trail on foot/walk/bike.
