The owners, Cindy and Glen, aer super friendly and helpful. The lodging is very comfortable. The food is delicious and plentiful. I keep staying here during my MTB trips to Downieville Sierra City trails and always have a great experience at Sierra Pines Resort. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great place to stay in Sierra City.
Sierra Pines was a 5 star experience, hands down! Located in a beautiful town with epic MTB trails, they offer cozy and dog friendly cabin rooms with hot shower and comfortable linens that face the breathtaking Yuba river. Enjoy sleeping with the sound of the river flowing nearby. We checked out their bar at night and the warmth and local hospitality was delightful! On top of all that, the cocktails are artfully crafted and made with pride. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and all the great local tips! These place is on top of our list for when we come back next year!
The facility was nice the husband was great the wife not at all. Perhaps she is over worked as she run off rule after rule. Be sure to pick up after your dog, like I don't need to be told. Take a table for two? I'm solo with a dog and used to taking a table for ten. I am not used to eating alone so I went to dinner alone, knew what I was ordering. The waitress came over and I said I was ready to order. She said ok and went to the next table, got them beers aNd took there order , placed there order then came to me. The couple had someone to talk to each other I then ordered. Normally I don't care for trout my least favorite but it was very good. The veg was previous frozen and the rice packaged. My dog is a licensed, insured therapy dog for others now me too still they charged me $30. A night. The whole experience added a lot of stress not released it. I left after the first night when I paid for two. Never to return. Either she has a 4 yr old grandson that doesn't know how to treat people or something is wrong with her. I pity the husband. I live 60 miles south and will never stay there or recommend it. Sincerely, Bob Norman
If you like a bit if a rustic vibe theme when you travel, this place is not to be missed. Not only is there a real trout pond to complement the view. The rooms and a few with basic kitchens. being very close to the PCT this place makes a convenient spot for a layover. The diners are hearty with a full bar. For me the only faux pas, was the key to our room did not work and was not able to be fixed during our stay Rooms: 5
