A must for wine lovers!! Good news that I had Saturday afternoon visiting the Enoteca is that this place is about to close. But what kind of country we are if we allow such a thing...The only Italian wine shop closes, the pride of an entire territory that produces the most exported wine of Italy since the times of Baron Ricasoli...pare is just like this. . the cellar in the basement to which is accessed for the wonderful brick-cotto stairs already dismantled...5 stars for the history and memory of the place
The Italian Enoteca institution, the high ideal of memory of Italian wine culture, has been betrayed and outraged in many ways, in these years. Unfortunately the signs of a desirable ransom are not there. You enter and sit on the terrace, clutter with all sorts of robes, chairs, plastic gazebos and wonder: what white wines do you have, at the glass? Answer: Vernaccia or prosecco. Ah! This is the degree of communication and information and awareness in the temple of wine. Instead of a fervent priest of mystical zeal, a bored and unaware waiter. And then the MilleVini restaurant. In addition to the inadmissibility assessments on how it is managed, without apparent constraint of mandate, the restaurant has dishes composed of excellent quality ingredients and a medium-level cuisine. The problem is parallel to that of the Enoteca. While the room maître appears competent and attentive, the waiter should bring a coffee, so much is unclean. The beautiful terrace is disturbed by a hideous, useless, plastic tent. In any cold country, waterproof umbrellas and fungus would be enough. But not here: it is evident that the user (potential) is the kind that most appreciates a sagra tent rather than drinking a glass of wine in the embrace of the Medici walls. Finally, I also accomplice the horrible tent, dark in the hall! Few and not beautiful plants that force you, even in the day, to squeeze your eyes to see what you have in the dish. Do vobis...
