As said in the description but as a tourist I don't expect the options to be like the UK
Ok I don't know about the rest of Turkey. but if you are planning on visiting Side I would strongly recommend you go self catering, as even vegetarianism seems like an alien concept in this part of the world. However very close to the hotel I was staying, I by chance found this little gem, and me and my friend who is not vegan ended up coming here on a very regular basis after a few rather hit and miss experiences at other establishments. First of all it was a lovely space to eat in. We sat outside on all occasions, however the indoor space looked great as well. Very clean and tastefully decorated without being pretentious. The waiters were fantastic, friendly and helpful but without being too pushy and in your face as some waiters can be in Turkey..especially if you are two single ladies! They serve on each occasion a complimentary starter of flatbread and salad which was almost a meal in itself. I told the waiter I ate no eggs or dairy and they prepared my flatbread without. They also remembered the next few times we visited on other occasions. The salad was fantastically fresh and flatbread delicious and I was almost too full to eat my main which was vegetable casserole...which was ok seemed to be made from tinned or frozen vegetables although the sauce was tasty enough, it was in the vegetarian section of the menu. On another occasion I ordered the vegetable curry I must admit without checking if it had dairy, and unfortunately it was in a creamy korma sauce it can be useful dining out with a non vegan as they can taste your food! it did not look that appetizing either. I also noticed that they had lentil soup on the menu although I did not try it. Drinks were cheap and on our first meal there we had our starter, main, a bottle of wine and 2 cocktails each for around seven pounds each!! While in Side I did not find much better as far as quality and price is concerned...and for some reason I could not find anywhere that served the vegan staples of falafal and hummus....no idea what was going on there! Actually I did go to one place Ockabashi which is listed elsewhere that served hummus. However for some inexplicable reason it was prepared with butter???!! But anyway for Side I would say that this was the best option as far as food and value was concerned. Another plus for me although may not be to everyone's liking were the cats that wandered freely around the outdoor area to be fed and petted by myself and other customers.
