The fish-focused set meals priced below ¥2000 are a great choice. They were absolutely delicious!

I had the pickled horse mackerel bowl (1,400 yen). While the price is on the high side, it was incredibly delicious! It featured a large fillet, not a tataki. The sauce on the pickled rice bowl complements the fresh horse mackerel perfectly! The staff informed me that the fish is already seasoned, but if I needed more sauce, I could add it myself. The ordering process is done at the counter, where you pay and then wait to be called by number to pick up your meal. Tea and water are self-serve. The setup is similar to a food court, which felt mismatched for the price—especially when passersby could stare in or when employees from the neighboring shop started sweeping. Overall, that detracted from the experience a bit.

Is it a fantastic experience to enjoy the holiday menu at Shimoda Port? Absolutely! The food was incredibly delicious! The highlight was the unique dish of fried sea bream, which is a specialty of Shimoda Port. I highly recommend it!
