Scotia Lunch - Shelburne

Great little place for home cooked food. Diner decor. Excellent food and staff. Was surprised to get a glass of wine with my burger plate. Also, excellent price point.

My wife and I had dinner here one night. The food was bland. We ordered a pizza to go back to the cabin with us. When we came home, we opened the pizza box and liked a frozen pizza from a grocery store. We couldn't even eat it!

Waited 40 minutes (with 2 toddlers) and had to ask where our food was, since every table sat after us, had his food. They said the chicken lasted so long, but when it came, it became a crisp, dried out and definitely...not hot enough to just finish cooking. Cheese and engraving were missing from a poutine and a meal of Coleslaw. Drinking was empty before our food even came, but we were never offered refills, I had to get a waitress down to get some room temperature water. Waited for our bill forever and finally had to pay to the counter to get take-out containers. I notice that this place was busy and would not even remember waiting, but the staff was less than apologetic and the food was at best subpar. 2 stars is a route, but the children loved their pizza.

On the way from Halifax to Kemptville we had lunch at this Shelburn restaurant. I ordered Popcorn chicken plate that was so delicious. My husband ordered burgers, and he was also satisfied with his food.

A few of us went here for dinner, with 3 seniors. The food was decent hand pressed burgers. Waitress was very nice. 1 in our party got her dessert to go and we got back to our cottage she opened and noticed it moldy on...top. Very bothersome that this would be allowed to happen. If the desserts get to the point where theres mold it questions the health standards of the kitchen
