The price of £4.00 is too high for just one small lahmacun, and the salad provided was lacking. I am not satisfied with my order of 8 lahmacun.
I hadn't ordered from Elif for a while, but decided to do so last night because we had always enjoyed their food in the past. We ordered 3 kebabs (chicken, donner), a pizza, and chips. We were not disappointed, as the kebabs definitely met our expectations. The meat was cooked perfectly, the salad was fresh, and there was plenty of it. I am looking forward to ordering again, but next time I will order earlier as we had to wait for 60 minutes.
I ordered a meal for delivery at just before 1940 tonight, I was given a gaurented delivery time of 45 minutes with a corresponding tcount down clock on the restaurant website. I phoned the restaurant after the devilry was late and was told that the food had not even been stared to be cooked. I requested a refund and expressed my displeasure and was, after a number of excuses told that someone would physically come to my house to refund me the money in cash!!! Totally unacceptable service.
This was the only decent kebab take away in the area, which is why we went. Wow. A shocking experience by the latest management. 1. Staff looked like car wash asylum seekers dirty and rough types (if you know what I mean) and I couldn 't tell what they were saying. 2. Asked for real meat in bread (not doner) was refused and he tried to sell me two mixed kebabs for £17! I bought one to share. 3. Inside the bag was wet! The food was cold. They 'd forgot to put chilli sauce on it. And it was mostly doner meat, which as you know is mostly offal (intestines) with dangerous amounts of salt to disguise the taste. Plus a little bit of chewy meat and 'salad '. For £7.50?? I can get a main in a number of restaurants for that. 4. I was told the meat is halal (my friend is a Muslim) so why are they selling ham (strictly forbidden meat)? On asking, the proprietor states for other people . Oh dear.... I ate some as I was hungry but felt sick for an hour after. A waste of money. There 's a niche in the market for a proper kebab on the otherwise usually decent Eccy Road.
