Favorites include the collards, the fried okra (and I don't even like okra), and the peach cobbler. The cobbler is different than any other I've tried and so much better than most.
My entire family enjoyed the very nice and familiar setting, menu and prices. The food was very different in a great way and entirely homemade to include the BBQ sauces. The kids meals sizes were in larger portions than we anticipated. The best part besides the food was the attentive service from the waitress and staff. We highly recommend this place and will definitely return.
Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Katie Lou's Cafe is nice little spot for bbq/southern cuisine in the heart of downtown Senoia. The smell of the meats smoking over hardwood is always alluring, and it's worth making a quick stop to indulge on occasion. I'm not a huge fan of the interior, but on a nice spring or fall day it can be really fun to sit outside and soak in the feel of an old southern town that also happens to be Zombietown, USA. My wife and I stopped in while exploring the area for engagement picture locations, and decided to try a few different things. To start, we gave the smoked wings a whirl they were nice and tender and juicy, but didn't seem to take on a lot of the smoke flavor, which was a bit disappointing. We then moved on to a pulled pork plate with greens and mac n cheese as well as the brisket Philly. My pick here would be the pulled pork which had decent light smokiness and a few decent sauces to pair (mac n cheese is thick and gooey but not super sharp in cheese flavor, and the greens are a tad bland). The brisket itself tasted good, but packed with all the staples of a Philly cheese steak, it net result was a pretty greasy sandwich. Overall, Katie Lou's is a nice spot to get a southern meal while you explore Senoia.
Everything was great! Fresh food and great customer service! First time here and we are planning to come back! In love with this food! The green fried tomatoes are the best that I have ever had! So crispy and fresh and the sauce was delicious!!!
Great place! FYI, it seems they are closed until late February according to the sign outside.
