Kaku - Sendai

There is generally a line here, so prepare to wait if you intend to come here. I agree with other reviewers that it is a bit overrated. Yes, the beef tongue is generally thicker, and cooked nicer than others. But I am not sure it justifies the additional cost over others. Most of the extras (e.g miso flavoured condiment) here are optional extras rather than part of the set, and there is a sit down fee as well which is absent from most other gyu-tan restaurants. There is also a time limit as well, all of which takes away the experience a little.

The best in class. Love to come here. The Gyu tongue really thick, juicy, soft and crispy. This restaurant is highly recommended. By the way, you must always be able to wait about 15-50mins depending on the time you visit.

仙台にいるときは、ぜひ訪れるべき場所です。Kakuでは、名物の仙台牛タンだけでなく、それをさらに特別なものにしています。肉は完璧に焼き上げられ、味は信じられないほど美味しいです。シェフは肉を焼く際、非常に配慮をしており、牛タンを調理する際のその職人技を見ることができるのは本当に素晴らしい体験です。仙台に訪れた際は、ぜひお越しください。

ビーフタンのグリルに加えて、トマトサラダとタンたたきもぜひ試してほしいです。長い列に並んで40分待ちましたが、それだけの価値はありました。
