Locals are many-time repeat customers due to home style cooking with flavours other cafe's are simply not skilled enough to replicate. Meal size and ingredient quality is outstanding. Whilst you wait, check out the local and international products including cheese and chocolate; it feels like a real local corner store. Join the Semaphore Road efforts to rediscover a local community feel, and contribute to more sustainable food system.
The mismatched tables and glasses etc. are all very cute and make for a nice atmosphere. - Coffee is very expensive especially when you factor in the $1.50 for non-dairy milk. - The food was reasonably nice but nothing amazing as it lacked flavour a little bit - I asked if there was another water glass and was told "I'm not sure I'll check" and never got one which was quite poor I thought. - There was a slight off putting smell when we walked in but once we moved near the door it was okay. However, we ended up being forced out by the overpowering smell of whatever was cooking as it was so strong and unbearable. - overall an okay experience but we won't be going back as there are lots of other delicious looking cafes along that road!
Went here after a recommendation from a friend, but it was very disappointing. Wait staff got the order wrong then disputed it when they brought out the wrong food, Home made crumpets were very dry, only a tiny amount of honeycomb butter served with it, and when I asked to have some maple syrup because it was so dry, they wanted to charge me for it. I gave up and left half on the plate. Would not recommend.
One of my most favourite place in all of Adelaide to go for brekky! They use sustainable ingredients (which is highly important to me) and they almost never get it wrong. I love love love it! They use Heston Blumethal's' method of bacon & egg icecream on the menu for the Pan Perdu (sp?). Perhaps slightly a bit skimpy on the bacon & the icecream on that dish on the odd occasion (so the fella says) however, it had always been delicious to me.. when I ate eggs. They also do probably the best scrambled eggs I've ever had. I used to love the homemade crumpets with the honeycomb butter & also the homemade baked beans. But now I love their vegan options. (They normally have other menu items on the board that isn't on the regular menu) Being a tea drinker, they do great Chai Latte & Chai milkshakes. And everyone says they their coffee is really good too. It's a great spot!
This is a place I have driven past for years but never had the chance to try outI started with a dirty chai latte and ordered the big breakfast.
