No1 The Crescent - Selby

I visited Selby for the second time and returned to No1 on Sunday. This pub is truly unique - it smells great, has a charming atmosphere, and the staff are friendly. However, it was still very quiet. The standout was the food. I tried the philly steak burger this time. The chips were thick and plentiful, but the burger itself was fantastic, with melted Blue Stilton cheese on strips of steak, onions, and mushrooms. The cocktails were also impressive, particularly the Strawberry Daiquiri. I noticed posters advertising lots of music on Fridays, so I am considering coming back to experience it instead of staying in York.

The manager was very unhelpful and rude. Despite already purchasing several gin and tonics, we were pleased to see the advertised offer of 2 for 1 cocktails on our table. However, when we tried to order the cocktails, the manager informed us that the offer had been removed without any explanation. He was disrespectful to seven of us, all women over the age of 60.

Rude manager refused to honour the 2 for 1 cocktail offer which was advertised on our table, said it was a mistake, when we queried it he said he was removing all offers and refused to serve us us being 7 lady pensioners having an afternoon drink for a birthday!! We left the bar, and as we were the only customers he lost his only business of the afternoon.

Thank you to all of the staff that ensured a fantastic venue attentive staff to celebrate my wives 50th birthday with her sons families. Food drinks were very good and will certainly recommend

New people have taken this lovely place over and wow you can tell the difference. Everyone was smiling behind the bar and it's was busy. Food was awesome a proper steak and the Beer was lovely. It even smelt clean. Which was different to the last time we went in.
