フィードバックを提供するI visited this restaurant in early December with my friend, were were after a relaxing few hours and a great restaurant experience not had chinese for a while. When we entered the restaurant we noticed how cold the temperature was, it was only 6pm so we thought maybe but hadn 't been open long. We ordered a beer each from the waitress and then very soon after was asked 3 times if we were Ready to order , a bit pressured we thought. Also the wine list had disappeared from the table and had to ask twice for it. We ordered our banquet and awaited our soup, this was tasteless, iv never had to add salt to chicken Sweetcorn soup! Our red wine arrived and it was freezing cold! I mentioned this to the waitress and she said well it 's not been in the fridge . Our combination course of ribs, spring rolls and seaweed was really nice but the mains were not, tough pork balls and chewy chicken. Untill we asked for a break the meal was very rushed. We didn 't enjoy the experience and won 't be returning.
We visited tonight for the first time, we had the early bird menu, plus duck and pancakes, followed by banana fritters, it was delicious. We will definitely return.
Called in on the off chance, a group of 6, and luckily the large table was free. Very welcoming staff from arrival to departure. We had Set menu B which was well priced and included all the favourites. Plenty of food for the 6 of us. Drinks well priced. Service was efficient. Yes we will return
We have been attending this restaurant under various ownership for the past 45 years, Good Friday (2022). Never had a bad meel nor bad service.
We always order from here as the food is the best in town but the last two orders have been very disappointing. We order the same thing pretty much every time so it's noticeable things have changed. The peking spring rolls are unseasoned and pretty tasteless and the casing is thicker. Two thirds of my salt and pepper chicken was dry, overcooked and stringy and the soft noodles were dry and tasteless. I can only assume the ownership/chefs have changed because we didn't have one meal before that was anything other than excellent but the last two have been half-eaten and binned, really disappointed.
