In fact they even have Twinkies which I don't see that often. The place is clean and has a modern design and the cashier was friendly solid 4 stars!
I went here frequently (almost nightly when I lived nearby for the last year or so (I very recently moved . It is a convenience store with a deli that makes (great sandwiches which is nice when you want something quick for dinner (I like their BLT; it pairs well with Corona and summer. . The people that work here are great, clearly value your business. One time, we had a problem with something we picked up, but couldn't find the receipt and they accepted the return anyway because they recognized me from earlier. Can't recommend the store enough.
For the most part of this place seems like almost any other convenience store. its just like 7-Eleven except without the 7 or 11. I found the price is here to be on the pricey side, and many of the items were not even market with the price. obviously like anything in store, their selection was not very big and rather expensive. I was trying to find a snack in here and after looking around for about 5 minutes, I decided to leave without buying anything because the items were so expensive.
I work just up the stairs from this deli. That 's the only reason I still go every once and a while. The food is decent, I can 't put them down for that. The prices are high, but that 's consistent with most delis that are at the bottom of housing towers. The part that gets to me is that I was going here daily for over three years ordering an 8 dollar sandwich, before realizing that they offered a punch card. I could have had a dozen free sandwiches by now. Of course the recognize me. But did they offer me a punch card because I visit so often? No. These people care about every dime coming into the store, they take a minute to think about and respect the loyal customers. The other part that made them lose points: I got a cup of soup (which typically comes with bread). There was no bread sitting out because they had run out early. Well it 's a deli so I know they have plenty of bread. When she 's ringing me up I ask for some bread to go with my soup. She says, no problem, and grabs a piece of sandwich bread and puts it in my bag and adds another buck twenty-five! Unreal. I wish I had a more convenient option. The reality is that I 'll continue to give this family a piece of my paycheck.
So, confession: I find myself going to this market almost on a daily basis. Since living at Harbor Steps, I can easily walk down to this quaint market and get my basic foods and goodies. You can get just about anything for a little more expensive than a Safeway or QFC, but hey... can 't be too picky being downtown. It 's open 'til midnight and I think a little later on the weekends. Plus, the wine and beer selection is really great! I haven 't had anything from the deli but my roommate and friends have and the sandwiches look really good. I definitely think it 's a nice little place to stop if you 're nearby and want a good sandwich or cup of soup. Update from a recent review: The staff is incredibly nice!!! One girl, Hannah, is so great and always asking how you are and what not. There 's also a cute asian couple that works there too and they 're very polite and inviting. Nice change opposed to other places where the employees don 't give a ****... definitely a fan!
