Really good atmosphere. Food was excellent. We had the honey garlic chicken wings ; great sauce and great crisp Calamari and shrimp: really good sauce Waldorf salad; broccoli was really fresh Black cod: cook was great and sauce was great Steamed buns pork belly : great great sauce and taste. We also asked for the tiramisu and it was reserved for only the express set menu, but the server gave it to us anyway. Was really nice. Overall amazing and would return. Restaurant manager was also great a few weeks earlier when there was complications with getting a gift card
Tried a few dishes here, can honestly say they were all delicious. There is no doubt there is a lot of thought put into this menu. The service was also amazing, had a chef come by our table to make sure the experience was perfect. He was very sweet. Love this place and will be taking the time to come back. I was here for the first and last time. The waiter didn't know the menu card, the company's automatic charged tip, when paying in cash, the waiter asked me whether to give disbursement to me or not. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: CA$40–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
Update: JINBAR changed their menu recently so we tried their brussel sprouts, double fried chicken wings, beef bulgogi flatbread, smoked pork belly steamed buns, and condensed milk soft serve. The pork belly was excellent tender meat and the fat was nicely rendered so biting in did not feel greasy. The buns were soft and a bit crispy on the outside. The flatbread was a miss in that it didn't really taste like bulgogi and the other flavors were drowned out by too much cheese, which threw off the balance of bread to meat to fixins ratio. As a whole, the food was on the salty side, particularly the brussel sprouts. The soft serve was enjoyable. It was fragrant, not too sweet, and had a subtle milkiness. Overall quality was not as good when factoring in the price. The other main critique is that the portions are quite small for what you pay for but this isn't new from prior experiences here. For the price now, they aren't as worth it as before. Previous: We have ordered from JINBAR for a number of years now and they have been consistently tasty. On this occasion, we got the honey butter Korean fried chicken, half and half pizza (beef bulgogi and chips corn), dill garlic roasted cauliflower, and fries. The pizza dough is soft and the beef was soft/tender and marinated well. The fried chicken is crispy and not heavily sauced or battered. The meat itself was very juicy. The cauliflower was creamy and the dill was a good herb y addition to the garlic butter flavor. Overall, JINBAR has consistently cooked their food well and have good flavor combinations. The price point is higher such that your portion size is not as good (for example, $15 for what is probably 1/10th of a cauliflower).
