フィードバックを提供するThis is our second visit. The first was in early February. Both times for lunch/appetizers. We live in Orange County but come to visit our daughter and, this trip, our son and his girlfriend. My wife and I came on a Sunday about noon and sat up top. They were able to give us a table right overlooking the street, great for people watching. We ordered the hummus with pita bread and Shirazi salad, and the Ceviche. Both were very good. A young man asked if we wanted the spaceheater on and we said yes and appreciated him for asking. Our young male server was nice and efficient, and took good care of us. There seem to be mixed reviews of this place. We had great experiences both times.
I was out with my friends when I noticed a guy filming my friend while he was singing an Eminem song (who happens to be Black). When I confronted the (white) guy recording, he said, "It's obvious, just look at him." Naturally, I became defensive, and he explained that he was recording my friend singing. Long story short, both my friend and I got kicked out, but the guy filming stayed. When we were removed, we were told that my friend "asked for it" by choosing to sing at a place like that. This venue feels racist and is definitely not worth your time or money.
Food: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Restrooms: Terrible We ordered the Cajun shrimp, nachos, mahi mahi sandwich, and the mahi mahi main dish, and everything was outstanding—it really hit the spot! Our server was fantastic and very accommodating regarding my gluten allergy. However, we can only give 4 stars instead of 5 due to the state of the restrooms. They were unacceptably disgusting, a level we've never encountered before. In the women's restroom, the toilet seat was loose and kept sliding off. My fiancé went into the men's room and described it as even worse, but it was so revolting that he didn't want to go into details. Overall, we would love to return, but only if they make an effort to improve their bathroom conditions!
I ordered the wedge salad, and it was absolutely delicious, loaded with plenty of blue cheese and bacon—yum! Others at the table ordered French onion soup, chipotle chicken, chicken salad, and a chicken parmesan sandwich, and everyone raved about their meals, particularly the chicken salad sandwich. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, even though she had a busy shift. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience!
My first time at Grapevine Restaurant was a disappointment. I met up with friends and we were all surprised that a glass of water ordered cost $5.00 ! We were there to do Karaoke and I was with some friends that have been there frequently to do Karaoke. They couldn't believe that we were all charged the $5.00 for water each. One of our group ordered a soda water and they were charged and also charged extra for a soda refill. It just sets a tone and the vibe is that Grapevine is out to nickel and dime for every charge. One of our group ordered a dinner and wanted veggie tacos. The server did ask and was able to have the kitchen make the veggie tacos. It did seem odd that I couldn't order guacamole and chips. No guacamole on the menu but plain avocado with chips and $5.00 for water seemed blah! Not sure I will go back again. The experience me and my group of friends had wasn't the best and while the Karaoke was nice the menu and charges were not.
