A Varcuzza - SCICLI

Lovely people and lovely wine. I had the raw seafood starter, which included raw fish, smoked fish, oyster, raw prawns and raw langoustine. I had the fish stew with crust (I think) for my main course, which is a dreadful translation for an amazing dish...... essentially various different types of fish, prawns, clams, mussels in a lovely broth, which are sealed with a dough lid and then baked to steam them. It was absolutely fantastic. Cannoli for desert were absolutely spot on. Really helpful and lovely waiters and our family (of 14 from 6 to 80 years old) had a lovely celebration meal here. I also like the fact that you can get a cheap pizza if you want one, or spend 20 euros on a high quality fish starter. Not tonnes of atmosphere (we sat out the back, and there was a very unusual play being conducted in Spanish on a stage nearby) but it all felt like a happy party for everyone who was there. 100% recommended.

We really enjoyed our evening here, Marco made sure that we had everything we needed and more and gave us 5* service. The owner is hands on, passionate and cares about his customers. As well as the service, the food was lovely. If you’re ever in Donnalucata, you must try this restaurant...and if you happen to have Marco as you’re waiter, then even better!
