フィードバックを提供するI was invited to dinner by a couple of my business associates. I had travelled past this restaurant many times but not sure why I never came here in the past. Nevertheless, I was quite excited to be here as I had heard some very...good reviews from my local colleagues about the food served here. So, let me start with the interior and ambience like always. In short, the place is quite well designed and planned. I think it has a smokers and a non-smokers section. We had a reserved table and I must say that the place is so much in demand, do reserve your table in advance. I personally witnessed 2 large groups 1 celebrating someone's birthday and the other probably a group of colleagues from one of the nearby companies in Schwaz or Jenbach. The host was quiet a charming man. I heard him speak in fluent Italian with my business associate, spoke to me in fluent English besides German with my other business associates. So, international travellers can definitely drop by. Overall the decor was quite well done and neatly maintained. Now to the menu. The menu was typical to a signature restaurant Does not offer too much neither too little. Just perfect fitting everyone's taste pallet (A signage of a boutique restaurant). The food served here is Italian and Austrian (Specifically Tyrolean, if I am allowed to say that). So, the group I accompanied with ordered a risotto, rump steak, a Tyrolean speciality of barbequed beef scrapped and mixed with light fried potatoes along with starters for each of them and I personally ordered an octopus salad for starter and a deer steak with mushroom pepper sauce and fried mashed potatoes. The first sign of a good restaurant is the way it is served, lets say presentation. 50% of the feeling is positive if the look is good. The other 50% depends on how your taste buds feel. Just before our main course was served, two baskets of breads were served with a nice variety accompanied with a tuna spread and two other different types of other spreads (Sorry do not remember the name). These spreads I believe are made in-house and tastes really nice. A little later the starters and the salads were served. The octopus salad was blended really well with sprinkled sauces, oil and may be a little vinegar since it was a cold starter. It tasted really well. Initially I was a little apprehensive since I had never tasted cold octopus before but I was not disappointed. A 5/5 for this dish. A little later I was served the deer steak. While the portion sizing was a little small since the deer steak medallions were small but I didn't mind it since I had a starter but if someone does not have a starter and orders this, I would recommend that they order something else as well to go along with this. I must say, the deer steak was simply fabulous. I had specifically requested that the meat be really well done (As an Indian I am not quite used to see a touch of red in my steak). In spite of being well done and with the reds gone, the meat was chewable very comfortably. The mushroom and the pepper sauce was simply terrific. The fried mashed potatoes were good but not for someone who is very calorie conscience : Overall great food. However, I must say that the restaurant is a touch expensive. But if you want to taste some good food, then you have losen your purse strings a little. Overall a great place and highly recommended.
The restaurant has a pleasant athmosphere and the staff is friendly and nice. The dishes were not terrible, but they lacked the standard that I would have wished for from authentic good local cuisine. The salad was a bit sad, with the potato salad being...wet and not very delicious. The main dishes were somewhat well done but again not really delicious and so most in attendance struggled to finish their big portion plates. One can definitely eat there rather than go hungry, but there's no need to go their twice.
Nice old building in the centre of Schwaz near the river Inn. The food was excellent with great homemade bread and selection of spreads. The specials (I had venison ragout) were varied and interesting, as was the rest of the menu. Prices were also reasonable. The only disappointing thing is that around half of the restaurant is a smoking zone and to get to non-smoking tables we had to walk through this. This I found extremely surprising as I was under the impression that indoor smoking like this was banned - apparently not. This means that despite good ventilation there is a persistent smell of smoke and all the waiting staff smell heavily of smoke from working in the smoking room. This is really unacceptable and likely means I would not return
We were reffered to the resaturant by the clerk at our hotel as an excellent choice for traditional austrian cuisine. The host greeted us warmly and was surpisingly fluent an any language we conversated in. The menu is short but concise and every order we received was very well executed and extremely tasty. We also had a few bottles of an excellent Austrian Blaufrankish wine with the dinner that we found on the wine card for a very reasonable price. All in all a very pleasant experience that is to be warmly recommended.
This family-run small restaurant is tucked away from the centre of town, which makes parking a lot easier. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and are fluent in many languages. (Our host was effortlessly switching between English, Italian and German to accommodate us.) All the dishes we had were not only done to perfection, but the ingredients were of the highest quality, and more importantly – locally sourced produce for the Austrian dishes. This was the best venison I’ve had in years; hung properly and then cooked to perfection. You can tell it wasn’t a farmed NZ deer, which has a flavour I find light years away from how venison should taste. (But 99% of consumers have no idea.) I’m happy to pay more if I’m served a commensurate quality.
