Heerlijk buiten gegeten op een warme zomeravond 11 augustus 2024). Je zit gezellig en ziet de Schiedamers aan je voorbij gaan. Op de website hadden we al een paar heerlijke gerechten uitgezocht die helaas niet op de kaart ter plaatse stonden sorry de website is niet bijgewerkt). De chef is op vakantie dus het verloopt niet vlekkeloos. Een aantal gerechten is uitverkocht en de lamsrack en slakken zijn al helemaal niet te bestellen. Ook geen verrassingsmenu. Dan maar improviseren. De bediening door twee jonge dames is heel vriendelijk. Vooraf vol-au-vent en salade vis. Smaakte prima! Als hoofdgerecht beiden een burger Sdam. Smaakte zoals een hamburger op een broodje moet smaken. Toch een tegenvaller als je lamsrack in je hoofd hebt. De steak was ook al uitverkocht. De caramel soes maakte wel wat goed en de Irisch coffee smaakte goed net als de glazen Merlot en chardonnay. Al met al €140,50 kwijt dus de bon van € 150 dekte de lading. Blijft gek om in zo’n restaurant een hamburger te eten maar goed we gaan zeker terug en hopen dat de gerechten van de kaart en website dan wel te bestellen zijn.

Delicious dinner outside on a warm summer evening. You sit comfortably and watch the people of Schiedam pass you by. We had already selected a few delicious dishes on the website that were unfortunately not on the local menu (sorry the website has not been updated). The chef is on holiday so things are not going smoothly. A number of dishes are sold out and the rack of lamb and snails cannot be ordered at all. No surprise menu either. Then just improvise. The service by two young ladies is very friendly. Starter with vol-au-vent and fish salad. Tasted great! As a main course, both had a Sdam burger. Tasted like a hamburger on a bun should taste. Still a disappointment if you have rack of lamb in mind. The steak was also sold out. The caramel choux made up for something and the Irish coffee tasted good, as did the glasses of Merlot and chardonnay. All in all we lost €140.50, so the €150 voucher covered the bill. It remains strange to eat a hamburger in such a restaurant, but we will definitely go back and hope that the dishes from the menu and website can be ordered.
