Shabu You - Schaumburg

I absolutely loved this experience! I've never had anything like it before, and I can't wait to return.

This is a genuine buffet experience. The people-watching is excellent! I didn't realize I would need to wear my comfy restaurant sweatpants. Our server was fantastic at explaining Shabu Shabu and was very attentive. However, the cleanliness of the bathroom and the food delivery robots—along with the iPads—could use some improvement. It would also be great to have gluten-free soy sauce available, and to ensure that sauce ingredients are regularly replenished and clearly marked as gluten-free or not.

$21 for a tip? Is that for the robot that delivered my food? The waiter was not much help—he didn’t explain anything, was hardly ever around, and didn’t even clear any dishes. The food was just average, not impressive at all. I’d much prefer to go to Iron Age in Glenview, where the meat looks genuinely good and has a nice amount of fat. I couldn’t even see a difference in the quality of the meat here.

I love hot pot and most things about this location but you really can’t justify waiting 30 mins for a broth refill especially when you’re only allotted a certain amount of time to eat.

Amazing. Took us a second to get the hang of how everything went but after that, Smooth experience.
