Riggers Pub - Savary Island

By far the best restaurant on Savary. And, as far as we know, the only one. So yeah, it's a rigged competition, but Riggers is worth it nonetheless. Considering they're competing with no one, the food's surprisingly good and the opportunity to have beer from the tap is much appreciated. It's a fun place to hang out, meet some others who're staying on the island, and take a meal off cooking and cleaning for yourself.

Very nice place to have a break. We were there the last day of September long weekend, everybody was leavin in the afternoon and so it was very nice and quiet afterwards.

Based off of other reviews and talking to some locals we thought this place was going to be closed for the September long weekend. We were absolutely thrilled to see it open!! With weight restrictions on the seaplane we couldn't bring any beer so being able to have an ice cold local beer from Powell River was amazing!! This is a quaint little fisherman's style pub with a wrap around patio that leads to a great backyard area. We ordered the salmon burger and cheese burger both Friday and Saturday and they were delicious. The staff was great! Ken was running the place while we were there and he was outstanding. He answered some questions we had about the island and recommended places to see and things to do. Definitely a wealth of knowledge!This is a must stop on the island. Great food, great company, great times.

We visited Savary under the impression that Rigger's would be closed for the season. After a day of walking the beach, we were pleasantly surprised to see the 'Open' sign hung on the door! We were the only two in there and after a few beers and great conversation with the (new) manager, Ken, we got some food. I had the salmon burger and he had the beef burger. Both were perfectly prepared and dressed. We liked it so much we went back the next day.Ken was super warm and you could tell how much he loved the restaurant and how hard he worked to keep it going. Great little sailor pub. Awesome owner named Bruce. Thanks for the chat about your new smoker ! Good luck. Back rustic patio is a great place to catch up or mingle with locals.
