フィードバックを提供するA large travel group selected this restaurant for Sunday dinner. The menu for the group included: wild mushrooms in thin crepe purse , pollock fish in cream sauce with mussels, wilted greens and onions, white rice and baba au rum with whipped cream. Consensus was that the meal was delicious, service staff for a large group was excellent and parking lot was nearby. If I ever have a chance to return to Saumur, I will return to Relais D 'Alsace for another delicious meal.
Convivial atmosphere, friendly staff, and of course..good food! A good test of any French resto is to see how many French eat there and there were plenty. I had a Chicken burger (being a coarse Englishman! whilst my more refined wife chose the Salade Marine. Both were delicious and very very filling. I couldn 't handle a dessert, but my wife...Pomme Tartine. Beer was good (alright I know blooming English . This is a good restaurant I think it used to be known as 'Le Promendae ' and well worth a visit.
Been a bit of a quest to find a Flammekueche for the other half for a couple of years now since she discovered one in Caen, we found a place, but circumstances decided we would have to miss out. Then as we pulled into Saumur we spotted this restaurant and thought our prayers were answered. We visited and while things were fine, the food acceptable, and the service good, that long lost memory was not relived. This appears to be a chain franchise type of place, possibly not of the original that was visited. Good in its own way. The place is fine for dining, just wasn't quite as remembered, others in the party enjoyed the experience, the deserts were a slight disappointment, but acceptable. In summary, nothing seriously out, but not particularly remarkable, somewhere to eat !
My sister took me and my partner for a meal there whilst visiting her in Saumur. She had been raving about the seafood choucroute for ages and there was no way we were not going to be trying it! The restaurant itself is located in an industrial zone near the big Leclerc and has plenty parking. Our waitress wasn't the most friendly, more straight to the point but we were really there for the food so we did bypass that! The seafood choucroute did not disappoint and I would highly recommend it to anyone! It was plentiful and very tasteful. Just talking about it makes me hungry!
