We called at 12.20 for a sandwich and were given the breakfast menu. My wife asked if it was possible for a sandwich. We were told it was the breakfast menu up to 12.30. When the waiter had gone we laughed at him, obviously not very bright, with ten minute to go. However, on the breakfast menu there were ham and cheese toasties at €7.90 and my wife found a tuna sandwich, so perhaps lunch and breakfast menus overlap. The ham and cheese toastie wasn't good, over toasted is the best description. Tuna was Tuna, not a lot and uninspiring. What really got to me was when paying the bill, we had seen the Visa sign and as we were leaving for home and were short of Euro's thought no problem. We found though couldn't pay for lunch as the two sandwiches only came to €16.60 and you have to spend €20 to use your card. No warning sign adjacent to the visa accepted sign. They sent me to an ATM to withdraw the money. So on to trip advisor where I find all these similar comments about their food and service. Sell up guys you are in the wrong profession or perhaps not very bright, I'm not sure.
Visited this restaurant for brunch. Seemed to prefer German patrons than others. We didn 't get one smile from the 'waitress ' or any eye contact. The food was acceptable but we won 't be coming back due to technical cold reception.
We decided to pop into Rolf 's for a quick drink after a walk around the marina. One of our party was not wearing a shirt, since it was hot. The owner (I think it was the owner, there was noone else serving) gruffly said something along the lines of Put on a shirt. We 're not on the beach. . It 's absolutely fine to ask someone to put a top on, but the way that the owner said that, so rudely and brusque. After we all exchanged glances, the person on our party without his shirt on put on his top and we sat down for a drink, since we were all exhausted from the walk. There were 10 of us, so quite a large party, but the place was near empty, so there were a lot of tables, so we sat across 3 tables. The owner came to serve us, and we asked to see a menu so we could decide what drinks to have. He said they didn 't have a menu, then asked us again what we wanted. We were all confused at this, as we didn 't know what they served, so we asked if they served cocktails. They did not. We asked if they had any cider. They did not. So we settled with a few beers and some cokes. While it 's understandable that somewhere might not serve everything, it 's unreasonable to expect the patrons to know what is being served without a menu. Needless to say, when our drinks arrived (in oddly small glasses), we quickly drank them and left. Will definitely not be returning due to the rude owner.
We popped in here for some lunch to be welcomed (probably not the best word) by someone who didn't seem very pleased to see us. We ordered drinks and asked for the menus. He told us the kitchen was closing soon so we had to order quickly. I had the Currywurst, which was nice. Another gentleman brought the bill over to us and couldn't have been more friendly. I do wonder why some people choose to work in hospitality when they obviously don't like people. Very odd.
