Sonic Drive-in - Santa Fe

This was a terrible experience. The food was disgusting and made me feel sick. I didn't want to have to deal with them again, so I won't be returning. They also made me wait over 15 minutes for subpar food. Overall rating for the food is 1 out of 5.

If you're a vegetarian, this may not be the place for you. However, there are a few vegetarian options available such as an egg and cheese sandwich without sausage or ham, tots or fries with cheese. The green chili is good, but be cautious as the red chili contains meat. The number one with green chili is a basic and classic choice, which can be spiced up with jalapenos. The restaurant is quick, fast, and open late. The shakes and slushies are delicious, especially during happy hour when they are half off with the app. There is a presence of homeless individuals around, but they usually do not bother customers. Despite witnessing some concerning behaviors, the employees and customers typically avoid interaction. In the end, the important thing is being able to enjoy a meal without disturbance. Overall, the restaurant offers options for vegetarians and a convenient place to grab a quick bite or drink.

I usually don't review fast food or chain restaurants because you typically know what to expect, right? However, I must say that this particular location is not up to par. The drive-thru is frequently closed, many of the stalls are either broken or have faulty card readers, and some stalls are reserved for staff use only. There is another Sonic nearby on Cerrillos Road where everything is in working order and staff understands English well enough to accommodate dietary restrictions. Unfortunately, this location is not allergen-safe, as my husband was somehow exposed to gluten while ordering a drink.

I wish I could give 0 stars. These people are rude, incompetent, and on their best day, mediocre. It's sad that these people can screw up Sonic. They shouldn't have people who can't understand English (or can't be polite) taking orders.Food: 2/5
