This restaurant is located in a narrow street in the old town. there are many signs in the streets they point in the right direction. the restaurant is housed in a stone house. it has two sections of the same local charm. if I remember well, the kitchen in the middle is of everything that separates the two parts. the mixture of parasols is very interesting. people who look at and interview about the food and drinks they taste, look and interview is a very interesting experience, as the place is rather cramped with tables, counters and other furniture. eating is simply spectacular, especially seafood. if in santa comba dao, you should not miss la cova funda!

We live in the opposite and have tried to “to” at a few places without success. Diner in the restaurant “Cova Funda” in Santa Comba Dão.Today we had diner in this restaurant who is located into the city centre in a narrow street, and close to the public car-park. On the inside it is small and cosy due to his interior who is typical Portuguese, the service is ok and the staff very friendly.As entrée they served slices of bread, butter and olives and a plate with small fish.As main dish I had grilled chicken, and my wife a typical Portuguese plate “Cozida Portuguesa”.To drink we had 0, 5 l red wine of the house, for dessert we had one pie and two coffees.For the total we have paid 20€.The quality of the food was ok, the quantity ok, but in total nothing special.This restaurant is following the price, more for the middle class and tourists.

The restaurant is located in the centre of Santa Comba, small but cosy room. The owner created an memory-altar for Salazar (ex-prime minister before democracy) in a corner. Food is traditional portuguese, with a pleasant taste, but high in calories. On two occasions we were given a bill that was erroneously higher than justified.

It was nice to eat there as a local. we had goats and laughs. the owner speaks a little frensh, but he will do everything to understand them.
