More importantly, everything on the short menu looks and is great, playing on updated interpretations of genuine Alsatian. I had the excellent Anguille fume aux escargots for a starter and Poulet fermier aux morilles as a main. Wine selection is very good. Service was impeccable. So do stop by if you can afford the detour!
We arrived sans reservation for a Sunday lunch, were welcomed graciously and immediately seated in the beautiful, near full dining room. The menu offered a choice of prix fixe and a la carte. The service was excellent and warm the wine list beyond reproach, and the price reasonable. We would go again in a minute.
We ate at the excellent restaurant and friendly staff very good surprise
What a shame! Home: a rustic gentleman when you arrive consults both well and badly his sheets to control your reservation... and if you are among the first arrivals, impossible to change room, table... in short, this gentleman is not very bavard, not conciliating... No trade. Service: the lady (surely the gentleman's wife!? , is not the trade too I think... it's chaotic, brouillon. The sommelier: he still has little milk behind his ears... he thinks he can push for consumption by serving the same dubious speech at each table... it's pathetic, not at the height of the proposed bottles. Don't clown, be pro. The kitchen: Chef, bravo!!! We were surprised. We've traveled, it was extra. We took your most complete menu, with the caviar option... Anyway, fine! A remark, a detail... where is the butter on the table? Cheese at the end of the meal? In any case, it is a pity that your work, Chief, is destroyed by two people (3 with the senior sommelier who are not the trade. But if at least they could be conciliating and logical...
Wonderful location and food to die for
