Big Sur - San Simeon

The owner and staff were super friendly!! The food was AMAZING. I definitely recommend the Fisherman's combo and Cobb salad. The desserts are great too! Especially, the lava cake and ice cream!

STAFFS TRIED TO SCAM ME!!! If you can, please avoid this place. If you’re here, make sure you check the bill carefully. I haven’t written any negative review for a long time, but the scam level and the lack of ethics at this restaurant are alarming in my case. The server named Jose Valencia, made a racist remark when I came in. I was too hungry to go to another restaurant, so I let it go. He then gave me the wrong order. Then, he gave me the wrong bill which cost more than my order. When I pointed out the mistake and asked to use Apple Pay, he misheard me and ordered an apple pie. I refused to take the pie, but they stilled added the pie on my bill, so I pointed it out and asked for a discount because of all the unpleasant experience. He gave me another bill with 10% discount and DISCREETLY ADDED 20% SERVICE TIPS ON THE BILL. Eventually, I sorted it out with another waitress who gave me a lot of attitude when I pointed out the 20% service fee. This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was okay, but service and ethics of servers are disappointing. I have a feeling that they take advantage of unaware foreigners to make them pay extra fee.

Me and my family love this place. The food is really good and has great flavor. We love how friendly this place is. The service is great too. I love how close it is to the hotels.

Hosts very friendly. Chicken sandwich was very good. The ribeye sandwhich was sometimes very tough, but tasted good. The fries were very good, some of the best I've had so far. There are 2 stars because of the outrageously high tax, almost 15% was added and then tip should be selected. We only noticed this outrageously high tax during the course of the trip. The restaurant here was almost the most expensive for an average meal so far. And we eat every day.

The day we ate 3 days ago the food was bad, not tasty and expensive.
